Ajit Shah

Director & Financial Planner since 1994.

Ajit has been a cornerstone of Duke Godley Financial Planning Ltd since 1993 and brings over 30 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry. Since taking over the management of the firm in 2000, he has built a highly respected financial advisory practice focused on delivering holistic and personalised financial planning.

Approachable, empathetic, and deeply committed to his clients, Ajit has supported many families through some of life’s most difficult moments, including the loss of a loved one. His calm and caring approach provides reassurance during emotional times, helping clients navigate financial decisions with clarity and compassion. He is a strong advocate for the importance of family protection, helping ensure his clients are prepared for the unexpected and supported when it matters most.

Ajit specialises in investment, retirement, and estate planning, with a particular focus on later-life strategies. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds the Diploma in Financial Planning. With a strong background in accountancy and taxation, he brings a keen interest in investment strategy to his work, providing holistic planning tailored to clients' needs.

Beyond the office, Ajit dedicates time to voluntary work with a children’s charity and values spending quality time with his family. He enjoys playing cards, reading, and is a passionate Arsenal supporter and cricket fan. Fluent in both English and Gujarati, Ajit ensures every client feels comfortable and well-informed throughout their financial journey.

Vipool Shah

Director for over 35 years.

After reading economics at Queens’ College Cambridge he began his career qualifying as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton. He has been focusing on advising private clients, SMEs and family companies on a range of financial and tax matters.

Vipool has close association with business in India. He is a former director of India Value Investments Limited and has co-authored a book Inward and Outward Investment: India and the UK.

He was also a member of an NHS Health Authority for four years, served as a school governor for eight years, and has been involved in several charities over the years.

Protection Advisor and Paraplanner

Shital Gohil

Protection Advisor for over 25 years.

Shital joined Duke Godley Financial Planning Ltd in 2000, bringing with her a strong background in the Financial Services industry dating back to 1993. Since qualifying as a Protection Adviser in 2002, she has developed a wealth of experience advising on a range of protection solutions, including life cover, company group life, and corporate protection schemes.

In addition to her client advisory role, Shital plays a vital part in the firm’s compliance and client research functions, helping ensure tailored solutions that reflect each client’s specific needs. She was actively involved in the rollout of Auto Enrolment in 2012 and continues to manage a number of workplace pension schemes for businesses with 10 to 500 employees.

Often the first point of contact for clients, Shital also oversees the administration and implementation of client portfolios. She supports the firm’s Directors and Investment Advisers as a Paraplanner, contributing to the effective management of client relationships and investments.

Outside of work, Shital is a passionate runner and trekker who frequently participates in UK and international charity events. Her achievements include the London Marathon, various half marathons, 100km ultra challenges and treks to Mount Kenya, Stok Kangri, Mt Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp. Most recently, she successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge within 24 hours.

A true social bee, Shital enjoys cooking, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends. Known for her hospitality and energy, she brings the same enthusiasm to her personal life as she does to her professional role.

Rupen Shah

Estate and Financial advisor for over 20 years.

Helping clients make confident decisions about their future. As a qualified financial adviser, he supports individuals and families through regular meetings, cash flow planning, and objective reviews—always with the goal of aligning financial strategies with what truly matters to them.

He’s always looking for ways to improve the client experience, especially through the use of technology that makes planning more accessible, clear, and personal.

What Rupen enjoys most about his work is building strong, long-term relationships—not just with clients, but often with their wider families too. He’s passionate about intergenerational planning and believes in helping families create and protect wealth across generations.

Outside of work, Rupen values spending quality time with his wife and their beloved nieces and nephews. Family is incredibly important to him. He also enjoys travelling, cycling, and keeping active through various sports.
